Shelley Skas MA LCPC:

Shelley Skas is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor. She received her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology and also holds a Type 73 certification in school counseling. Shelley’s areas of expertise are addressing emotional and behavioral problems. She specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for children and adolescents.  She also provides CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) for teens and adults.

Caitlin has experience working with at – risk children, adolescents and their families. She also works with adults that have severe and persistent mental illness.

Nicole Varley MA LCPC 

Nicole Varley is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor who earned her masters degree in clinical psychology. Nicole has 16 years of experience working with at risk children and families. Nicole’s primary focus is to give children and families the tools and skills to improve communication and enhance social and emotional functioning.

Dr. Mahome is pleased to offer evaluation and medication management of common psychiatric conditions such as:

  • ADHD, Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder, social anxiety, panic disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder, post-traumatic stress disorder, and other stress-related anxiety.
  • Autism Spectrum disorders, including Autistic Disorder, Asperger’s, and pervasive developmental disorder.
  • Mood disorders, including major depressive disorder, bipolar disorder, seasonal affective disorder and premenstrual dysphoric disorder.

Dr. Mahome does not offer the following services at her private office:

  • Disability determinations
  • Evaluation or treatment of alcohol or drug abuse
  • Court-ordered psychiatric treatment
  • Treatment of eating disorders such as anorexia or bulimia

Christine Anne Gesiorski MA LPC

Christine Gesiorski is a Licensed Professional Counselor and earned her Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology. Christine has experience working with at-risk youth and individuals with moderate to severe mental illness. Christine also provides intake services for new patients at the Healing Center at Silver Lake Gardens.

Ryan_J

Ryan J., MA

Ryan is an independent educational consultant at the Healing Center at Silver Lake Gardens. He is able to help any parent advocate for their child regarding emotional, behavioral, or learning disabilities. Whether a 504 Plan is not yet in place or regarding an Individualized Education Plan, Ryan can be of assistance. Ryan does not accept insurance.

Ryan can consult on the following areas if your child is having problems that are impacting him/her at school:

  • Math
  • Reading
  • Communication
  • Speech
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Physical Therapy
  • Behavioral Issues
  • Emotional Issues
  • Learning Disability

Ryan holds a Masters Degree and is currently holds a Type 10 Certification and is certified K – 12. He is currently a Student Resource Team Leader in a public school district. He is an expert with Individualized Education Plans, making sure to provide the proper amount of support to students who need extra assistance to be able to access the general education curriculum. He is involved in running annual reviews, domain meetings, three year reevaluations, manifestation determination meetings, IEP updates, placement meetings to determine the appropriate program or school for students, behavior intervention plan meetings, and transition meetings in order to decide what skills the student will need in order to be successful after high school. His main goal in education is to make sure that all students are getting the proper support they need to be successful.

Ryan also supports the schools social workers, psychologists, speech and language pathologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and case managers in their everyday duties and in meetings. Ryan works diligently with students and families to advocate for them and achieve the support the student needs to be successful not only in school, but in life after high school.

 

Karolina

Karolina is the receptionist at the Healing Center at Silver Lake Gardens. She can handle your appointment and billing needs. She will be able to answer your questions about the insurance verification for new patients, and other general inquiries.
